Tuzla Airport proudly announces the successful launch and operation of the INVOLI/ANSART integrated air traffic management (ATM) system. This advanced system includes a state-of-the-art Voice Communication System (VCS) and a combined ADS-B and MLAT surveillance system. Awarded in late 2023, the project was completed in an impressive four-month period, showcasing the commitment and efficiency of all involved parties in improving airspace safety and operational effectiveness at one of Romania’s key air traffic hubs.

The collaboration follows the recent partnership between INVOLI and ANSART, emphasizing their dedication to transforming local and regional airspace management. The new system at Tuzla Airport demonstrates its innovative approach and solid value proposition, aligning with the Aerodrome Flight Information Service (AFIS) certification that Tuzla Airport is actively pursuing.

Tuzla Airport’s decision to integrate INVOLI and ANSART’s solution reflects its strategy to adopt modern, affordable technologies to enhance its air traffic management capabilities. As one of Romania’s largest regional airports, Tuzla offers a wide range of services, including flight information, general aviation, and helicopter operations. It is a vital hub for flying schools providing CPL and PPL courses and is exploring future expansion with green aviation and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

George Halichia, Tuzla Airport Operations Manager, remarked:

“We are excited to embark on this transformative journey with INVOLI and ANSART. Their technology will not only enhance our operational efficiency but also ensure the highest standards of safety and service quality for our users. About Tuzla Airport

Tuzla Airport, also known as Tuzla Aerodrome, Constanta, was originally a small airfield. After, it became a training base for pilots, then fell into disrepair until recent modernisation efforts revived it. The airport was officially opened on 27 April 2024, marking its transformation into a center of innovation and progress for general and regional aviation.

Now boasting a modern runway equipped with advanced technology, Tuzla Airport can accommodate various aircraft, from small leisure planes to regional passenger planes. Visitors at the re-launch event were able to explore the upgraded facilities, such as the modern passenger terminal, aircraft hangars, and maintenance areas.

The re-launch represents an essential milestone in Romanian aviation history and ANSART is proud to contribute to the renovation by providing solutions to enhance the efficiency of aviation services for the local community and to meet the demands of tourism and international business.
